Pulaski Avenges Slow Start for Second Straight North Division Crown Pulaski was the last team in the North Division to win a game in the 2005 season, but ended the year as the only team undefeated in July while claiming its second consecutive division championship. After opening the year with two losses, Pulaski's first win came on June 23 and it has since won 11 straight capped by a 5-3 win over Oconto on July 14. Shawano's 5-4 victory over De Pere 17-Under on July 16 put Pulaski two games ahead in the standings with one game to play and sealed the title. Pulaski ends the regular season Tuesday by hosting Shawano. Pulaski will take on the East Division champion in the American Conference championship game on Friday, July 22. If De Pere beats Sturgeon Bay on Tuesday and allows eight runs or less, it will host the game and set up a rematch from last year that Pulaski won 7-5 in nine innings. If Sturgeon Bay beats De Pere and Pulaski defeats Shawano, Pulaski will host either De Pere or Kewaunee County in the conference title game. The American Conference winner plays the National Conference champion on Monday, July 25 for the league title. Pulaski lost to Hortonville in last year's league final. Waupaca can clinch the West Division with a win over New London on July 18, while the Appleton Rebels hold the edge in the South Division entering a key doubleheader with Sheboygan on July 18.
